Sociology
The sociology collection reflects the wide-ranging research areas of the Department of Sociology, as well as interdisciplinary research across campus and beyond. With close ties to Organizational Studies and the Institute for Social Research, our collecting areas also include population studies and demography.
The collection spans a broad scope of contemporary, historical, national, and international sociological inquiry. Areas of collecting interest include culture, economics and organizations, gender and sexuality, health, power and social change, race and ethnicity, immigration, and social demography. The collection is particularly strong in historical sociology, social theory, urban sociology, and gender and family studies.
