What we do
Our teams of informationists, subject and domain specialists, and catalogers and acquisitions specialists work in partnership with academic departments, centers, and programs across U-M to advance research, scholarship, creative practice, and clinical care.
We engage and collaborate across disciplines and methodologies to support research, learning, teaching, and dissemination of knowledge. We do this through building and stewarding distinctive collections and making them discoverable and accessible, offering a wide range of instruction and research services, and engaging with the campus and scholarly community worldwide.
Our services span the full research lifecycle. We partner with researchers and advance their efforts to:
- Discover, identify, and engage with library resources, including primary sources, data, and more
- Conduct literature searches, including systematic and scoping reviews
- Identify sources of research funding
- Manage, publish, and preserve research data
- Engage with digital tools and methods, including data analysis and visualization
- Identify venues for publication and dissemination
- Address copyright and intellectual property considerations
- Evaluate and describe research impact
We are committed to providing access to resources and services in alignment with our values of diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility.
