Video

Looking for a specific film or video? Here’s how to find out whether we have it.

Search the library catalog

Look for the film or video in our catalog

When viewing search results, you can filter by title, subject, language, and more.

See Tips for Using Library Search for more information on viewing and refining results.

Filtering for video

Your search results will generally include both physical copies and streaming versions of films and other videos. For more refined results, we recommend filtering your search by format:

  • visual material
  • motion picture
  • video (DVD)
  • video (Blu-Ray)
  • video (VHS)

Visit the Askwith Media Library on the second floor of Shapiro to check out physical copies of films for class or research. You can also look for the Place a future reservation option within Get This in Library Search.

Finding streaming versions

To find streaming versions of films, make sure the “Available online” option is selected as you view your search results. Instructors looking for course materials can consult our guidance on using film in courses, including how to submit a streaming request.

You can directly explore our video databases, which contain recorded lectures, interviews, artistic performances, debates, films, documentaries, and more.

Are you looking to create and edit a video of your own? See Edit Video to learn about equipment and software you can access at the library.
