Computing
Computer labs
Computers are available in all library buildings.
Most are configured like other campus computing locations, and require valid U-M credentials to log in.
For more information, see what software is available and browse all campus computing labs.
Visiting campus? We have guest computing and printing.
Adaptive technologies
All computers in the library and on campus provide basic assistive technology, including:
- Built-in accessibility features in Windows and Mac
- Assistive software including screen readers, magnification, and read/write programs
The Knox Center — located in the Shapiro Library — is available to students who are connected with Services for Students with Disabilities (SSD). It offers quiet space, lockers, computers, and additional assistive technology including voice recognition software, and adjustable furniture.
Wireless access
Wireless networks are available in all library locations.
- MWireless is the primary campus network and requires valid U-M credentials.
- MGuest is open to anyone and is not encrypted. You cannot access online library resources or printing and copying services on the MGuest network.
- MWireless-UMHS and MGuest-UMHS are the equivalent networks in Michigan Medicine’s non-research buildings, including the Taubman Health Sciences Library.
- eduroam is available for visitors from other participating academic institutions.
Did you know that U-M students, faculty and staff can use eduroam when visiting other universities and colleges? Configure it through MSetup before your visit.
