SHARES

We are a member of SHARES — the resource sharing consortium of the OCLC Research Library Partnership — which includes onsite access at member libraries. Our participation in the onsite borrowing reciprocal agreement also grants guest borrowing privileges across participating institutions

Current faculty, graduate students, staff, and sponsored undergraduates are eligible.

This agreement is specifically for University of Michigan's Ann Arbor campus.

Onsite access

All SHARES partners grant onsite access to eligible constituents from member libraries. This includes libraries that are otherwise not open to the public.

See the list of partners and visit their respective websites for information about how to visit.

How to borrow

Your home institution must confirm your status and good standing at your own library before you can borrow. To visit a participating institution and borrow materials, complete the SHARES Onsite Borrowing application

Your home institution will notify you along with the institution you wish to visit after review. The library you're visiting will reach out to you with information about your library card.

Borrowing from U-M

Approved SHARES guests coming to borrow from us need to visit the Hatcher North Information Services desk with photo identification to get their library card. Cards are valid for one year from date of issue and you can renew by reapplying through the borrowing application.

Returning materials

You should return materials to the institution you borrowed them from.

Planning to visit us? Borrowing and onsite access privileges for guests are the same for all of our reciprocal agreements.
